I have always lived in Bedford County. I grew up in Shelbyville, but live on a farm in the Fairfield/ Beechgrove area and have been there for the last 25 years. I love my community and being close to my family, therefore I have never had a desire to live anywhere else. I studied Accounting at Motlow State Community College and at Middle TN State University, but have always had jobs geared toward customer service and sales. I sold real estate for 12 years for Sutton Realty & Auction Co. I have been at Parents’ Day Out since 2007 and was a teacher for 10 years, before becoming the director.
I have been married to my husband Gene for 25 years. The farm we live on is where he was raised and we have a commercial cow/calf operation. We have four beautiful daughters: Leah, Alissa, Amanda, and Rachel. We have 6 grandchildren: 3 girls and 3 boys. Other than the cows we have a dog, two goats, chickens and cats.
I have always attended church and feel very blessed to have been raised in a strong, Christian home.
I feel a very strong passion for this ministry and know that God has worked in my life to lead me here to Parents’ Day Out and the First Presbyterian Church. I know that I am right where He wants me to be and I love being able to serve Him in this way. I love working with these children and strive to create a fun and loving environment to learn about Jesus and consider it such a blessing to be able to plant seeds of God’s love in their hearts.
I can be quiet and outgoing but I lean more towards the quiet side. I don’t enjoy being the center of attention, at all. In my spare time I enjoy being with family and doing things outdoors and helping on the farm.
