Mission Committee
Meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:30pm
The Mission Statement found on the First Presbyterian Church worship bulletin each Sunday reads in part,
“to be the hands and feet of God in this world”.
The Mission Committee provides opportunities to members of FPC through financial, prayerful and hands on experiences to individuals and groups locally, regionally and globally who are in need of food, shelter and drinkable water due to their particular life circumstances or natural disasters. Opportunities and activities include: Good Samaritan, Backpacks of food for eligible school students during Spring and Christmas breaks, Community Soup Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity, Living Waters for the World with 6 sites where we have installed water purification systems in Guatemala, Respond to natural disasters both financially and hands on clean up, Provide site for Red Cross Blood mobile 3 times a year, Regular Offerings: 5 cents a meal taken quarterly, One Great Hour of Sharing at Easter and Joy Gift at Christmas, Annual Benevolence support of 9 to 12 non-profit organizations.

Goal of the mission committee is to carry out a ministry of service and witness in the local community and
beyond that reveals the Kingdom of God and Christ's ministry of reconciliation in the world.

Property Committee
Meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:00pm
The Property Committee supports oversight of all matters related to property of First Presbyterian
Church as a standing committee of the Session. The Property Committee is responsible for
maintaining and protecting the Church’s property, including the building structure, infrastructure
and grounds, as well as safety plans and security.

Goal of the Property & Maintenance Committee is to care for and ensure the preservation, physical quality, and historic integrity of church building and grounds to the glory of God.

Worship & Music Committee
Meets on an as needed basis
The Worship & Music Committee
​
Goal of the mission committee is to foster a sacred and richly spiritual environment for the
worship of the Triune God; ensuring that worship services are grounded in Holy Scripture and
are guided by Presbyterian polity as revealed by the Book of Order, foundational Presbyterian
principles and historic Reformed confessions.

Faith Development Committee
Meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm

Goal of the Faith Development Committee is to nurture spiritual and Biblical growth of the congregation
and so to equip the saints of the church for ministry.

Pastoral Care Committee
Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00am
The Pastoral Care Committee strives to provide personal care and hospitality to members of the congregation.
They assist the clergy, church and members in preparing food for funerals.
They reach out to members who are sill, in crisis, hospitalized, bereaved or homebound.
They work closely with the pastor to help members in any way they can.

Goal of the Pastoral Care Committee is to provide personal care and hospitality to members of the
congregation as disciples in the tradition of compassion.

Congregational Life/Fellowship Committee
Meets on an as needed basis
The Congregational Life and Fellowship Committee creates and oversees the fellowship opportunities
at First Presbyterian Church. Regular fellowship activities include 5th Sunday potluck lunches,
Easter Sunrise Service, Summertime Ice Cream Socials, and “Fat Ash Wednesday” Pancake Dinner.

Goal of the Congregational Life and Fellowship Committee is to be responsible for developing
and sponsoring fellowship activities for the church.

Administrative Committee
Meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:30pm

Goal of the Administrative Committee is to provide for that part of the church's program that relates to
employment relationships with the church's lay and clergy staff in an appropriate manner and scope.

Stewardship/Finance Committee

Goal of the Stewardship & Finance Committee is to lead and advise the Session in the use of
financial resources solicited from the congregation. The committee shall exercise it's fiduciary duty
with practicality, spirituality, transparency, discipline, and wisdom.

Church Gift Fund Committee
Meets on an as needed basis
The Church Gift Fund Committee
Goal of the Gift Fund Committee is to provide a vehicle for members and friends of this church to fulfill
the mission of God with respect to the administration and use of gifts, devises and bequests.
Also, to encourage the devotion of material resources to God's service.
